Pyaar Atlantis
Indian weddings atAtlantis Paradise Island
Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas
Atlantis is not an all-inclusive. It is a resort complex on Paradise Island with more event space than anywhere else we researched, its own Indian chef, and the only South Asian wedding programme we have found that treats the fire ceremony as something it sells rather than something you request.
Why Couples Choose It
What this resort actually commits to
The fire ceremony is an inclusion, not a favour
Their South Asian collection includes a firepit and sells it as the essentials for the seven circuits of the holy fire, alongside a mandap and a statue of Lord Ganesh. Every other resort in our research treats an open flame as a request to be assessed. This is the only one that treats it as part of the product.
An Indian chef on the staff
Banquet menus are built and customised by the resort’s own Indian chef, rather than an international menu adapted on request. It is the difference between a kitchen that can cook your food and a kitchen willing to try.
Rain is planned for, not reacted to
Their planning guide states that indoor backup space is always blocked for an outdoor event, and that every outdoor venue has a designated alternative. The weather call is made jointly with your conference services manager, to a published timetable.
You can marry legally in the Bahamas
No blood test, and the paperwork is a known quantity. Which day you need to arrive depends on the day you want to marry, and that is arithmetic we do for you before anyone books a flight.
Know This Before You Fall In Love
The published limits
Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.
- Catering is in-house only. Outside food and drink is contractually not permitted, so a caterer cannot be flown in from Toronto.
- Entertainment and fireworks must finish at 10:30pm.
- Every vendor, including the resort’s own preferred suppliers, needs a signed hold-harmless agreement and a current certificate of insurance well before arrival.
One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.
Before You Commit
What we get in writing for you
These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.
- The baraat. Nothing is published about a route, a horse or dhol players, so we get it in writing rather than let you assume it.
- Whether Jain, halal or no-onion-no-garlic menus can be certified rather than merely accommodated.
- Your room block terms, which are negotiated and not published.
Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
